Aisle runner suggestions for outside ceremony?

I'm acquiring an outside ceremony this summer. I wished to have an aisle runner, but the ceremony will get place on grass..Does that seem to be okay for an aisle runner? I originally wished a red carpet at first but they appear to be sooo costly in VA. Im frightened that my heels will poke correct via the aisle runner. Any suggestions or know of a specifc sort of aisle runner thats heel
